Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, have been arrested in the United States following the announcement of new criminal charges by UK authorities.
The UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said Andrew Tate now faces seven additional rape charges, along with other allegations involving sex trafficking and child pornography.
Tristan Tate has been charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Prosecutors allege the offences took place between July 2010 and August 2017. The Tate brothers have consistently denied all allegations against them.
According to Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the CPS Special Crime Division, the new charges followed the submission of additional evidence by Bedfordshire Police, increasing the total number of alleged victims in the case to seven.
US Marshals confirmed that both brothers have been taken into custody, while a spokesperson for the US Department of Justice said the arrests were made as part of extradition proceedings.
