Russia has issued a warning to the United Kingdom over reports that British-made drones supplied to Ukraine have been used in strikes against targets inside Russian territory.
The Russian Embassy in London said Britain’s growing military support for Ukraine amounted to an escalation of the conflict. It warned that “London’s actions will inevitably carry consequences for which it will have to answer.”
The warning followed reports that Ukrainian forces had used drones manufactured by UK companies in long-range attacks inside Russia. The reports have raised concerns that Britain’s involvement in supporting Ukraine could further increase tensions between Moscow and London. (The Guardian)
Russia accused Britain of becoming increasingly involved in the conflict and said the greater its support for Kyiv, the greater the potential consequences.
The UK Ministry of Defence did not confirm details about the reported use of British-made drones but reaffirmed that Britain remains committed to providing Ukraine with military equipment to defend itself against Russia’s invasion.
The latest exchange comes as both Russia and Ukraine continue to intensify long-range drone attacks. Ukraine has increasingly targeted military, energy and industrial facilities inside Russia, while Moscow continues its missile and drone campaign against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
The Russian warning has added another layer of tension to relations between Moscow and London, raising concerns that continued Western military support for Ukraine could lead to further confrontation.
