Thousands of firefighters are battling massive wildfires that continue to spread across parts of France and Spain, forcing the evacuation of around 280,000 people from threatened communities.
The fast-moving blazes, fueled by extreme heat, dry conditions and strong winds, have destroyed land, threatened homes and stretched emergency services as crews work tirelessly to bring the fires under control.
Authorities have urged residents in high-risk areas to follow evacuation orders and remain alert as changing weather conditions could cause the fires to spread further. The wildfires are among the most severe to hit the region this year, with efforts continuing to protect lives and property.
